Subclass 482 Temporary Skilled Shortage
This temporary resident visa allows Australian employers to sponsor skilled worker from overseas to fill a position in their business. The applicant may apply for this visa in Australia if they are holding:
• A substantive visa; or
• A Bridging Visa A, B or C.
Who may apply for this visa? This visa subclass has two streams:
Short-term stream – This stream is for applicants with occupations on the Short-term Skilled Occupations List (STSOL). The visa holder is allowed to work for the sponsor for up to two years which can be extended for a further two year.
Long-term stream – This stream is for applicants with occupations on the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL). The visa holders is allowed to work for the sponsor for up to four years with eligibility for permanent residency after three years.
