Kitchen Drain Clog Resolved in Columbus!
Today our Zoom Drain Columbus tech responded to a kitchen sink backup where a 5 ft. section of 1½" pipe had been removed for access. We snaked the line approximately 25 feet—all the way to the main stack—to ensure there were no collapses and to restore flow.
What we found:
• Heavy grease buildup inside the older 1½" cast-iron piping
• Debris from years of wear inside the line
• A small-diameter pipe that makes future backups more likely
Because this downsized pipe can’t safely accommodate our mini-jetter, a full jetting isn’t possible without upsizing the line. We were still able to flush about 10 gallons of water through to push out as much grease as possible.
Due to the age and size of this pipe, even small food debris can cause quick re-clogs. We advised the tenants to be extra careful with what goes down the sink.
If you’re dealing with slow drains, recurring clogs, or older plumbing, we’re here to help keep things flowing!
