Dave Mayfield, and his company Z Excavation and Plumbing, did a fantastic job repairing our water line. Dave answered his phone both times I called, arrived at the scheduled date and time, and completed the work efficiently and without making a mess. The care they showed to our property and home was outstanding. They had the job done quickly, and had the line inspected shortly after on the same day. He even offers a 12 month warranty. If you’re on the fence about Dave, don’t be. If the price sounds too good to be true, it isn’t. Dave quoted less than half of what the great big plumbing national company did. Highly recommend!

Mayfield replaced our drainage pipe from the downspout to the street. He came out the same day I called to give an estimate. His costs were significantly more reasonable than anyone else I spoke with. He was able to get the job done super quickly and was great about communication. I would 100% recommend this company and will definitely use them again in the future!

I cannot say enough good things about Dave Mayfield and ZExcavation. He responded quickly to an emergency, worked diligently on our behalf with Columbia Gas and the City of Columbus Water Division, and installed our new water line at a reasonable cost. He ran into difficulties beyond his control with our property and did not raise the estimate. Class act, and highly professional.

David was literally 10/10!!! Not only was he the best price, but he was the best human! No gimmicky talks or having to call a supervisor. David did my estimate and was the one doing the work!! He’s easy to communicate with and was very upfront about everything! I will be recommending him to anyone and everyone! He fixed my entire main water line in my front yard. Dave should wear a cape! He saved the day! Our main water line had a leak at the foundation, the city gave us 14 days to have it replaced before they shut off our water. The big companies you hear advertise on the radio and tv wouldn't even come out to give us a quote. Other companies said the job was too big and complicated. Dave quickly repsonded, inspected and gave us a quote. He also educated us on the whole process and possible complications. All of Dave's competitors said his quote was great. Dave was in constant contact via phone calls and texts throughout the whole job. In one day they replaced the water line without damaging the driveway, yard or porch. So thankful we found Dave and Z Excavation!!!

Dave did a great job replacing our main water line with a new copper line from the street to our house. Finished it up in a day. Treated us very professionally. If you need quality work at a reasonable price, hire this guy!!

We had a great experience working with Dave Mayfield from Z Excavation. He arrived promptly and quickly diagnosed the two water main leaks on our property - one at the curb box and another in the front yard. Dave explained the problem very clearly and provided a detailed estimate for the repair. Like to mention that Dave was the only one to notice that we had two leaks. Three other companies that gave rather inflated estimates did not even notice the second leak in the yard. Dave and his partner completed the work very efficiently and left the yard clean and tidy. We deeply appreciated Dave's professionalism and expertise throughout the repair process. Z Excavation and Dave Mayfield well deserve the 5 star rating.

We used Z Excavation to replace our broken water line. Dave came out to give a free estimate, and was easy to communicate and schedule with throughout the process. He was patient with all of our questions and always showed up when he said he would. His pricing seemed fair, and once we knew what options we wanted, he was able to give us an exact price (the other plumbers we got estimates from told us it would be “plus or minus $1000”). We will use Z Excavation again for any plumbing needs in the future!
