Most people think yoga is about poses - stretching, flexibility, “Being good at it.” But yoga was never meant to be a performance.
This week, I’ve shared a new blog exploring the heart of yoga beyond the physical practice — the part that supports how we live, cope, rest, relate, and listen to ourselves day to day.
It’s based on the 8 Limbs of Yoga, but not in a philosophical or intimidating way. Instead, it’s about things many of us are already working with:
- learning not to compare
- tuning into your own body
- adapting when you need to
- breathing through discomfort
- choosing awareness over pressure.
The blog was inspired by a moment at the end of a recent class, when someone said:
“I’ve never done yoga before… I really enjoyed it, but I’m not very good.”
And the truth is — yoga isn’t something you’re good or bad at. It’s something you practise by showing up and listening.
If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re “doing yoga properly”, or felt like you’re not flexible, experienced, or confident enough — this one’s for you!
