Every surface that you touch in your new apartment — from the thermostat to the counters, to the light switches — has been touched numerous times by the previous tenants or home owner. Make sure you take your time on each section of your new home and give each room a very thorough cleanse. You might even come across broken items and/or fixtures that you will to need to discuss with the landlord/ owner and arrange for their repair, so take a notebook! Take the opportunity to make a clean start in your new place, while also taking a detailed notes of its current condition.
