Delicious and authentic Hunan food! The food was perfectly spicy, the service was great, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Highly recommend for those looking for a good Chinese restaurant in the area. Will definitely be back!

GET THE SESAME BALLS. Thank you to the couple at the next table who recommended these FRESH fried golden balls of crunchy squishiness. I love sesame balls and will come back here just to order them. All the food was excellent. We got in house steamed pork dumplings and scallion pancakes (crispy yum!). The stir fried tender beef is SPICY and flavorful and would order again. My mother got stir fried pork (too spicy for her taste I loved it) so the owner (?) graciously mentioned a less spicy dish. The owner was very kind and attentive. The music was delightful and atmospheric. Let’s hope this corner keeps this delicious restaurant! And get the balls.

Recently, we discovered Yixiang Hunan Gourmet, a newly opened restaurant in Malden, MA, near my son’s house. It’s located in a neighborhood with a reasonably sized Chinese community, rather than on a busy commercial street. Since it’s so close, we decided to give it a try. I was told the restaurant has only been open for a couple of months. The environment immediately reminded me of a local Chinese restaurant in China—simple, comfortable, and very authentic. One dish that really caught my eye was the green pepper stir-fried with century egg, because we had just enjoyed this dish a few months ago in China. The flavor here was spot-on and truly authentic. In fact, this was the first time I’ve ever had this dish in the U.S., and it brought back great memories. The staff were very polite and patient, even though there were quite a few tables occupied. The ordering system was easy to use on your cellphone, which made the whole experience convenient and smooth. If you’re nearby in Malden, I highly recommend giving Yixiang Hunan Gourmet a try.

I am a big fan of Hunan food. I took a visit on Saturday night, the food was amazing here and really authentic, will be here again.

Really nice, authentic place. The food is so flavorful and has a lot of depth. Spicy, sour, salty. The owner and server are also really nice and gave good recommendations on what food to order. I recommend getting the tofu dish - the tofu is homemade and then smoked, and stir fried with spicy peppers and green onions. Can’t wait to come back and try the other dishes.

I’ve been to many of the Hunanese restaurants in the greater Boston area, I would say the food is fantastic. You can see the cured meats they use on display, you know it’s all fresh. The spice varies from mild to Authentic. We had the beef with pickled long bean, chili tripe, bamboo pork ribs with rice and braised cabbage all very good. And the staff is all very friendly and attentive! You’re gonna like it, promise 😉

This reminds me alot like going to restaurants in China all over again. The service is very friendly and considerate, and the food is very authentic. They would also modify to your liking. Would recommend!
