Been taking my cars here since we moved to the Bay 5 years ago. Yao has always done things right. He’s always transparent and honest. Recently, the local dealer was gonna charge $4400 for a lower control arm bushing replacement (yes, I know, insane). Texted Yao, he said initially he could do it for $850, but then updated me promptly saying the job was easier than the manual suggested, revising his price to $250. Just got the car back and it drives great. This example really shows his integrity and honesty, and it’s why I’ll keep taking my cars to him!

I had him checkout the overheating issue on my 2017 RX350 Lexus. He explained and showed me a cracked hose and plastic housing needed to be replaced. He gave me an estimate of $325 dollars with parts and labor and would be done by end of day, I agreed. About an hour later he called me and said my head gasket is blown and to come and get my car. I asked him to fix it and he stated he did not have time (or the knowledge) to do it and to please remove my car from his property today. I stated I drove my car here to you today I should be able to drive it out, no response. I would be very cautious with this mechanic if you are getting more then an oil change.

I've been going here for basic smog checks and oil changes, but this last week I had the dreaded "my-car-is making-funny-sounds" problem. Yao's Auto was very acommodating and prompt, figuring out the issue and fixing it right away. (By the way, ChatGPT gave me nonsensical advice on how to fix my car that I thankfully ignored.) The service here is honest and straightforward with no hustling, no upsells, no talking down to you. My wife receives the exact same treatment when she brings her car in. I would 100% recommend this shop.

Shady and untrustworthy shop owner. He Charges more than the dealer for brake fluid change and when I asked if he bleeds the valve at each wheel he said that he only bleeds just one and when I told him that the proper way is to bleed all 4 he acknowledge that this is the right way to do the job but he said that I have to pay an additional $80 for him to bleed the other 3 valves. Stay away from this dishonest and bad shop.
