Functionally similar to acupuncture, the pressure points on the Shakti mat stimulate your nervous system by increasing your blood flow, thus relaxing your body. Is this a necessary product? No—especially not if you’re exercising regularly and using other tools (like theracanes and foam rollers). But it certainly won’t hurt you, and if you enjoy it, that’s plenty reason to keep using your mat!
