Today, Jordan and Dr. Keyes are addressing (debunking) 5 common misconceptions about chiropractic.
Misconception 1: The cracking sounds you hear during your adjustment are coming from your bones.
The truth: The sound comes from the compression of the gasses around the joints between your bones. While the cracking can sometimes feel—and sound—weird, it’s a natural response! It restores your range of motion and mitigates your pain.
Misconception 2: You can fix your misalignments at home through exercise and stretching.
The truth: You have to be adjusted to realign your spine. From there, exercise and stretching help you maintain proper alignment. But no stretch or exercise can magically fix your subluxations!
Misconception 3: Adjustments are the sole aspect of chiropractic care.
The truth: While adjustments are an integral part of chiropractic care, they work in tandem with functional movement, corrective exercise, proper nutrition, and adequate supplementation. At Woodlands Family Chiropractic, we take a holistic approach to wellness. Adjustments are merely a part of your health journey—not the whole.
Misconception 4: One adjustment will fix all your problems.
The truth: Everybody and every body is different! It usually takes several adjustments for you to feel a difference; we can’t heal you overnight.
Misconception 5: Chiropractors want you to come back and get adjusted for the rest of your life.
