Wickford New & Part-worn Tyres

Very good prices for tyres but poor handling , they scratched the rims , i send text to the owner without asking any money just to inform him to be more careful with the rims and he call me a liar saying that it was before. Just be careful with expensive rims now i need to paint them again.

DO NOT RECCOMMEND!!!! Rang to check that they had the tyres needed for my car and told them when I would be coming - they told me they had them in stock. When I got there they told me they had sold out and could sell me one part worn and one new - the part worn being practically new anyway, so I agreed to this, despite it being more expensive than quoted - and advertised on the wall (apparently as the part worn was "practically new", it would cost me more). When I drove away I felt my car didn't handle very well and popped into a garage up the road for someone to look at. Turns out I had one summer tyre (the new one) and the part worn was a chunky winter tyre. The mechanic said although not illegal, it makes the car very unstable, he certainly would not drive a car with mixed tyres and suggested I return to the tyre place to get them to correct it. When I returned (it was out of my way but I was keen to resolve), they absolutely insisted there was nothing wrong with driving with odd tyres on the front (one summer, one winter) and I would have to pay yet more money to have the tyres swapped. Having already paid more than quoted, I did not feel comfortable handing over yet more money. I pointed out that they should have told me before fitting that they are completely different tyres. After researching, it is definitely NOT recommended to have mixed season tyres on your car as it can make it very unstable, so they are incorrect by telling me it was fine! I will now take my car elsewhere, pay for a new tyre and be left with a random winter tyre that I have absolutely no use for.
