Wick'd Surf Camps

I’ve used this surf camp/lesson/rental many times over the years, and it’s always an incredible experience. Andy is the best — so experienced, helpful, and endlessly patient. I always leave feeling more confident and having so much fun. Truly the best place to surf!

This worked out great! Met the Wick'd bus there at the beach. THEY BROUGHT ALL THE GEAR WITH THEM! So much easier than picking up in town and piling all the gear into an already full car. They had a fresh wetsuit in a bin for me and the lesson started with how to wear and care for your gear. (All the gear was in fine shape!) The location is ideal for practice! Jamie gave us the rundown on the beach to get us started, then into the surf! The waves were great for a lesson. We could try again and again without getting tired out. And I did achieve my goal of standing and surfing! So yes, five stars for Wick'd.

I did an intermediate surf lesson with Andy and it was the best lesson I've ever taken. I learned a lot about my form, the spot, and reading waves from our lesson and it helped me surf better throughout our trip and beyond. Andy's super knowledgeable, encouraging, supportive, friendly, and approachable. I recommend him to everyone! Oh, and my partner was hesitant about doing a surf lesson but loved it too :)

Everything about my experience with Wick'd Surf Camps exceeded my expectations. Andy went above and beyond to make sure my three day surfing camp was perfect for me and my skill level. The thoughtfulness, passion and knowledge that Andy has put into this business is very evident and very much appreciated. Took our kids to meet Andy / Wick’d bus at the beach in September - Andy had everything ready to go for us and made sure my husband & kids’ suits & booties fit them properly. He gave us a run down of how to keep the gear in the best shape and then passed us off to our instructor Theo. Theo was everything you’d want your instructor to be - kind, friendly, easy going, encouraging and patient. Everything was a breeze from beginning to end. We had an absolute blast thank you Andy & Theo!! (Sorry for the delay guys & emailing you Theo!) :)

My husband and I had an awesome experience with Wick'd Surf. There was excellent communication before hand on where to meet. We met at the beach and they provided all the gear we needed (all in great condition). All we needed to do was show up! Our instructor Jamie was awesome, he took us through all the information we needed to know including the science behind waves, riptides, longshore currents etc. After and thorough on-land lesson, we got in the water. Jamie didn’t bring his board so he could help us catch waves and be an anchor point in the water. I was hesitant about surfing at first, but after our lesson with Jamie I’ve changed my tune. Thank you Jamie and the team at Wick’d!

Couldn't say enough good things about Andy and Kaitlin. Booked a surf lesson for me and my two boys and everyone had a blast and learned a ton. The equipment was top notch, the water safety lessons were excellent and the surf instruction met and exceeded expectations. Plus, Andy really went the extra mile to make sure we could keep the equipment and use it the next day. Totally recommend and we will be back for sure.

Highly recommended!! I wish we could give more than 5 stars; I am so pleased we booked with this company. I can't say enough nice words about the whole organisation. Firstly, Andy is hardworking, incredibly kind and also very forgiving. I made a monumental error in booking and he was incredibly chilled about it. Working late into the night, he sorted everything out for us for the next day. Secondly, the instructors are great. We had a family lesson (two adults and two kids; 10 & 7) and Jamie, the instructor, was brilliant and helped us get the most out of the day. We've had lessons in other countries and he was absolutely top notch. Finally, I lost my GoPro whilst surfing😭. The Pacific is a big place and I thought it impossible to find. Nevertheless, Wick'd surf managed to do it and contacted me a few days later helping me to get it sent all the way back to the UK. If you get a chance, book with these guys.

We booked last minute and Andy was super responsive to get us set up online. The next day we met up with Jamie. He was awesome, and did a great education lesson on reading the waves, rip tides and overall ocean safety. Kelsey and I both got up surfing and we really enjoyed it! Highly recommend!

We opted for a private lesson which made getting up on the board to catch waves consistently really very easy for both myself and my 11 yr old child. We arrived at the beach according to the detail instructions and excellent communication from Andy and our kits were well prepared, the wetsuits were clean and dry and in excellent condition. The fact that we meet right at the beach makes for an easy start. Our lesson was taught by Jamie, who spent some time explaining about the longshore currents, riptides and other helpful information that I later realized helped us to maintain our position out along the beach. He then gave us thorough, yet simple instructions on the board before getting in the water to give us the best chance for success. Some of these simple things made a massive difference to what I had tried four or five times previous having not taken a proper lesson. The arrangement allowed us to keep the boards with us and to come back the next day. Andy even reached out to tell us what beach he would be at so that after we finished our lesson, we could simply drop the gear off to his bus at the parking lot, and not have to haul the gear back to a shop. It really was a fantastic experience and my child and I are quite confident already at catching waves. Thanks to Jamie for your outstanding teaching and to Andy for your excellent organization and communication. I simply could not give a stronger recommendation!!
