Whelan's

This place was a complete discovery because I stumbled upon it by accident. At one point, we were told the bar was closing and that if we wanted to stay, we'd have to go upstairs. Well, what awaited me above was precisely the disco with headphones, an experience I had never had before and which is truly wonderful, I recommend it to everyone! Of course, the Guinness is always excellent.

Great music. Fun vibes. Good selection of alcohol. Went for a concert and the main stage is awesome! You can get really close and feel the band's energy or you can perch on the balcony and have a more relaxing view

It feels authentic, full of energy, and has that rare atmosphere that makes a night out feel memorable rather than just ordinary. The best thing about Whelan’s is the vibe. Whether you are there for live music, drinks, or just a relaxed evening with friends, the place has a brilliant buzz. It manages to feel lively and intimate at the same time, which is not easy to get right. There is a genuine charm to the venue, and you can tell it has a strong place in Dublin’s music and nightlife scene. The live music experience is excellent. The sound, setting, and crowd all come together really well, creating an atmosphere that feels personal and full of life. It is the kind of place where you can discover a great act, enjoy a proper night out, and leave feeling like you experienced something uniquely Dublin. The staff were friendly and efficient, even when the venue was busy. Service was smooth, the drinks were good, and everything felt well organised without taking away from the relaxed feel of the place. Overall, Whelan’s is a fantastic Dublin spot with great atmosphere, great music, and a lot of personality. It is not just another pub or venue it has its own identity, and that is what makes it stand out. Definitely worth a visit and absolutely a place I would recommend.

Really good venue. Pints in the venue were In hard plastic, so Staff allowed me go out to the main bar for a pint in a glass, and to sit down for a bit. Will definitely be back as they get a lot of good bands through frequently.

Great Pub in Dublin, with great Live Music and a great atmosphere, good beers and great variety of whiskies, lovely place to spend hours with good drinks good music and good friends, I raccomend when you here in Dublin

We loved it! We were fortunate enough to be there during a special event they have every January and it was really cool! Great music, enough space, fair prices and good service!

A great Irish pub with a wonderful atmosphere, setting, and a knowledgeable staff. During the week, it's the ideal spot to grab a beer and experience a truly authentic Irish vibe. Excellent door staff. It also features a covered indoor smoking area on the first floor. There are both table seating and bar seating available. During the week, it's never too crowded, except on special occasions. I always recommend it, even on Sundays. From Monday to Thursday, if you want a calm, relaxed place to chat with friends over a beer, this is the spot.

Had to "Jump on" and see Rory O'Hanlon at the live venue. Cannot fault it. Friendly and helpful staff and even doorman were very pleasant.

Still one of the best live music venues I visit in Dublin every time I’m up. The atmosphere is always great, and even when there’s a gig or event on, the place never feels too cramped unlike some other venues I’ve been to. Even if you’re not there for the music, it’s still a place you’ll enjoy. Highly recommended 👍

This bar was featured in P.S. I Love You and I was able to tick off a bucket list item by being able to visit. It was not incredibly busy, the bartender was attentive, and the drinks were great. Atmosphere was quirky and inviting. So glad I stopped by.
