We ordered the Mediterranean omelette and the grilled cheese. Both of them was plenty and very tasty. The fries and country potatoes were tasty too. The service is good and it does have indoor and outdoor seating. We didn't try the bakery items but they looked good Parking can be tight with not many spots

Whale City Bakery, located near the ocean, offers a delightful mix of fresh, flavorful food and charming ambiance. The bakery’s historic building adds to its old-fashioned appeal, giving it a cozy and nostalgic vibe. Whether you’re enjoying their delicious pastries, hearty sandwiches, or just sipping coffee, the ocean breeze and the welcoming atmosphere make for a perfect stop. The bakery’s blend of great food, picturesque setting, and rustic charm makes it a standout destination for both locals and visitors.

Was in the area and stopped in for a lil something. First time inside. Love the vibe. Cute cafe. Great spot for cup of coffee and pastry. Or breakfast. I grabbed a thrkey cheese croissant. It was yummy. They do have a microwave available for customers to use. I really apprected it. Parking out front, or in rear. Staff is friendly and bubbly. There is tables inside and outdoor seating is also available.

Affordable and delicious diner style breakfast menu. I ordered an omelette with cheese, mushrooms, and onion which was $16 and massive. With the potatoes and toast that came with it, this could easily be breakfast for two.

I was photographing sunrise down the road and looked on the map for a breakfast spot. This place was super close so decided to check it out. I was shocked how good everything was and so filling. The burrito was delicious and a great presentation and the ham croissant was probably the best I’ve ever had. The staff was so friendly and mentioned they make the baked goods fresh every morning. You get a nice view of the ocean while you eat and I would recommend stopping by.

Cute place along the PCH that had a vegetarian/vegan option for lunch. I had the veggie burger and my boyfriend had a veggie omelette. Both were AOK. They totally hit the spot and wiped it out, as we were both pretty hungry. I liked reading about the history of the place as we sat at our table and read the articles on the wall next to us. Although it's sad that Davenport was once a big whaling town, it was still interesting to read the history. I'm glad times have changed. On our way out we discovered they also offered vegan bakery, so I bought a brownie and it was really good! Vegan bakery can be hard to find, so I buy it whenever I run across it. I'm trying to find their menu online so I can refresh my memory of their menu, to see if it had more vegan offerings, but their website is offline, so I can't comment on if a vegan can get more than one entree here. But at least there's a veggie burger and a dessert a vegan can get, and a great view along the Pacific Coast Highway!

UPDATE: When we love a place, we return! This is one of my favorite stop along highway 1. But somethings have changed: Starting from the fried calamari, at least on our dish at this time, didn't come with the little squids that use to come, also I ask the young waitress about the jar of beer and she said that they no longer serve that, it was weird because they always had, fish and calamari was missing flavor, maybe was a bad day, maybe wrong person working there?!? I don't know, but my experience changed .... Manager, please review to keep the quality of this amazing place that we love! Adding new pics and keeping the old one's as well.... This is one of my favorites spot in California, not only because have a good food but also because is very close to the Shark Fin Cove, you can eat good, drink something and after walk a lot in front of the beach, I definitely recomend the beer Pilsner that they have, is really really good! Calamari is very good too, price is very fair, by $15 each dish and 20...25 per person, also you can enjoy a very beautiful sunset over there.

What a great place for breakfast. Also has a full menu. And the bakery is to die for! All pastries are baked fresh in the morning. I cannot resist fat pills.

A great little cafe we stopped at for lunch while driving the Pacific Coast Highway back home. It was busy, but our service and food were terrific! We would definitely go back! We even grabbed 3 cookies from the bakery for the road!
