When carrying out percolation testing, it’s not just about the numbers on the results sheet. To properly assess a site for wastewater disposal, we must take a holistic view:
🔍 Trial holes to understand soil profile
📉 Groundwater table depth at different times of year
🌱 Environmental constraints and local protection zones
Unfortunately for our client, further investigation revealed the site sits within a Source Protection Zone. That means additional restrictions in some cases, that the proposed solution simply isn’t viable.
The lesson? Always look beyond the perc test itself. A comprehensive site assessment can save time, money, and disappointment down the line.
