Recently, we attended a site in Bridgwater to carry out a compliance investigation for a vulnerable customer. He had been told he needed a brand new sewage treatment plant, as his septic tank was allegedly too small.
After our inspection, we found the system to be in good working order. While it would be considered slightly undersized by modern standards, it is a historic installation (pre modern Building Regulations) and is functioning effectively with no signs of pollution.
Assessed in line with current General Binding Rules, the system remains compliant meaning a full replacement is not required, only minor remedial works.
