We have been to site in Wales to see yet another incorrect septic tank installation!
Septic tank discharging to a drainage field what’s wrong with that?
Here’s the problem
Flood risk area - The area has already flooded and this compromises the drainage field and can lead to pollution
High water table - The required depth was not achieved as the water table is too high and does not conform to building control DOC H
River in the vicinity - Extra danger of contamination and leaching of effluent into the river
SSSI area - permit was required but not obtained from Natural Wales
Before taking on installations it’s vital you obtain the necessary information.
Unfortunately for our customer it’s going to mean a new sewage treatment plant to watercourse after permit has been obtained and permission has been granted.
Additional risers and precautions for the flood zone area will also need to be designed.
