We can’t always give you the answer you would like….. sad but true story ⬇️
After visiting a property on the market to inspect the septic tank and discharge location for the new buyer it was discovered the system failed in a couple aspects;
Undersized septic tank
Non compliant pit style drainage field -pollution to ground
Sadly due to environmental factors, size of work area and room to adhere to building control standards the only solution was a cesspool application for this project.
The new buyer was extremely grateful to have recieved the survey before the exchange of contracts as they simply can not maintain the costs involved in effluent removal on a regular basis.
We have been asked if there were any other solutions and the answer in this case was no.
A cesspool is always our last option but in some cases the only option. Protecting the environment is the most imperative task we should all keep in mind. We are not just protecting the environment but the client themselves we simply can not install any system that will not comply to the standards set out by the EA.
The general binding rules are set in place for a reason and a pretty good reason at that!
It saddens us greatly that we could not give the client the news they wanted but we also have a duty of care to uphold.
