Sometimes self-care is a glass of wine, an Epsom salt bath and a piece of chocolate cake. Raise your hand with me if you've been there. I have. But before self-care gets to the point of what I call "crisis care," where we just need anything to get us out of the ultra-vigilant, stress mode we're in, let's think about the daily practices we can put in place that keep us balanced, nourished, and resilient. One of the things I love to see in my patients over time is their improved ability to handle stress.
