James and crew did an absolutely outstanding job on my floors. They ripped up old carpet, refinished existing hardwoods, installed new baseboards throughout and laid new hardwood in another room. He kept me up to date every day with his progress, including pictures and let me know if there would be delays. He doesn’t cut corners and takes his time to get the job done correctly. He was having trouble getting all the old finish off the floors and rather than just rush through it, he took an additional 1/2 day to make sure it was done right. I cannot say enough good things about James and his crew! I will be forever great full for the transformation of my house!

I replaced 3 rooms of carpeted floors with hardwood/red oak. Another 3 rooms already had red oak floors which I had refinished. James and his team did a wonderful job - very professional and excellent communicator! I wanted the floors to be lighter in color - not the typical “older”orange color so James suggested staining them with a transparent white before sealing. I love how they turned out!! His suggestion was spot on! He pays attention to details and always kept me updated. I would highly recommend Weller Hardwood to anyone who is looking for a quality job at a competitive price point.

We hired Weller Hardwoods to refinish the hardwoods on our main floor. He responded quickly to our request and answered all of our questions. The color came out exactly how we pictured and the quality is phenomenal. James framed in the area around our fireplace, and weaved in an area that was originally just plain wood. It came out seamless. I was worried about dust, but James covered everything very well. We didn't have to do any dusting or vacuuming when we moved back in. He kept us updated each day (since we couldn't stay in the house) with texts and photos. We love our hardwoods and we are so glad we found Weller Hardwoods for the job.

I had appliances delivered from a local business in Cicero and they damaged my wooden floors with giant black marks and severe scratches. I went to the internet to search for companies that refinish floors and have excellent reviews. After reading the excellent reviews for Weller Hardwoods I contacted James Weller from Weller Hardwoods. We set up an appointment at my house. He was prompt, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. James came over to my house and told me exactly what had to be done. There were so many black marks and scratches on my wooden floors that all areas of my wooden floors had to be refinished. James went into detail on the reasons for refinishing all the wooden floors. He explained that just refinishing where the black marks and scratches were located would leave the floors looking really bad. James impressed me with all his knowledge on what it would take to bring my floors back to life. He told me that he would send me an estimate within a day of meeting with me. He sent me the estimate in a days time which included the cost, the number of days to complete the work and what was needed to start and complete the work on my wooden floors. James was extremely nice and answered all my questions. After meeting with James my wife and I knew he was the right person to refinish my floors. We agreed to the estimate and James told us that the job would take about five days to complete. James started the work on August 25, 2025 and completed the job on August 30, 2025. James and Shale came over and prepped the house so that all the items would not be damaged from the sanding of the floor. All the furniture was moved to other rooms in the house and the appliances were disconnected and moved. James would tell me when he was starting the day at my house and when he was leaving for the day. James was very punctual and the communication between us was absolutely fantastic. James did exactly what he said he would do and was a man of his word. The job was completed as promised. My floors look absolutely amazing. They are clean and shiny. I can not believe what a remarkable job James and his crew did. All the furniture and appliances were put back to where they came originally. My wife and I are extremely happy with the results and job done by James Weller of Weller Hardwoods. If you need any work done on your floors do not look anywhere else. Words cannot express the joy and gratitude that my wife and I have for James Weller. Thank you so much for the work you did and for being honest, friendly and one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. James is professional and pleasant to work with. He is responsive and does excellent work. The entire experience was awesome, we love our new floors!

My wife and I talked to three different floor installers before coming across Weller Hardwoods. All of them said our floor would require extensive leveling of the sub-floor, adding significant cost to the project. James came in and said there was no issue with the sub-floor. We contracted with him soon afterward based on his more than 20 years of experience and excellent written estimate for the job. We wish we could share before and after pictures. He absolutely transformed our house on time and under the estimated budget. How about that for service! Anyone that works with James should find him an excellent professional and genuinely nice person.

Weller Hardwoods did a fantastic job for us. James was a clear communicator, provided a detailed estimate, was organized, and did the work exactly when he said he would. The new flooring looks beautiful. I would 100% recommend Weller Hardwoods!
