You see, my friend, refrigerator – it is not so simple machine. Many people think, “Oh, it just makes cold,” but inside – very serious technology. Two main things control how it works: compressor and control board. If one of these goes bad – problems begin.
Compressor – Heart of Refrigerator
Compressor, he is like strong man, always working. He takes refrigerant gas, squeezes it hard, makes it hot, and pushes it into condenser coils. There, gas cools down, becomes liquid, and goes inside evaporator. Inside fridge, liquid expands, takes heat from inside, makes everything cold. Then it turns back into gas and goes back to compressor. This cycle – it never stops. If compressor stops – no cold, only warm disappointment.
Why compressor can break? Many reasons. First, maybe overheating. If condenser coils are dirty or fridge works too hard, compressor gets hot, oil inside burns, and then – kaput. Second, power surges. If voltage jumps too high – compressor gets shock, winding burns out. Third, refrigerant problems. If too little or too much gas inside system – compressor works too hard, then dies young. Also, if relay or capacitor fails, compressor wants to start but cannot – just makes click-click noise, like sad dog scratching door.
Control Board – Brain of Operation
Now, compressor is strong, but he is not smart. Who tells him when to work? Control board!
