This is a charming place. We stayed here on our anniversary road trip. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. We even got a personal side by side tour of Virginia City. Breakfast was an amazing spread fit for a king. The food was delicious and the table was beautifully set. Our stay was comfortable and cozy. We had everything we needed and the hosts pay attention to detail. Including homemade chocolate chip cookies awaiting us in our room when we checked in. When we left we felt as if we'd just visited with family. We will definitely be back.

Our stay at the Virginia City Bed & Breakfast was outstanding! Hosts Dona and Mark were waiting outside to greet us and made us feel at home from the start. Their house has so much historical decor and our room was comfortable with beautiful views overlooking Virginia City. Dona made us an amazing breakfast (it was a feast!) including gluten-free pastries. The Virginia City Bed & Breakfast is rated five stars and for good reason. Thank you Dona and Mark for making our stay very memorable!

We had the best stay here! 3 nights of comfort and 3 mornings of the most delicious homemade breakfasts!! All the beauty of an old house with all the modern comforts. Mark and Donna couldn't be any nicer. Being greeted by Archie was a bonus! We absolutely loved it.

If I could give this establishment 100 stars I would. Dona and Mark make you feel like family when you stay at their Bed and Breakfast. The house and the rooms give you that Virginia City historical charm you expect and love. Dona prepared fresh cookies in our rooms everyday and even accommodated my guest who is gluten intolerant. And the breakfast we had every morning felt like we were hanging out with family members we see only once a year, and it was incredibly delicious. Easily the best food I've had in Virginia City for breakfast. I cannot say enough good things about this place. We will be returning every year if we can to spend time with Mark and Dona, and of course ARCHIE! We loved being able to hang out with their friendly labradoodle (or golden doodle, I didn's ask because I was too busy giving and receiving the love). If you are reading this because you are contemplating where to stay, book them while you can because the experience is limited and incredible. Thank you again to Mark and Dona! You've definitely set our expectations high for similar B&B's. Haha. <3

Virginia City still maintaining its historic roots. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Dona, Mark, and Archie. Great food and genuine hospitality for our 4-day stay in the Governor’s Room!

My wife and I stayed here last weekend and had a most enjoyable time. Mark and Dona are very welcoming and accommodating hosts. Everything was very clean and our room was comfortable. To top it off, breakfast was a first-class experience. We would definitely like to stay again.

I'm happy to write this review and express my appreciation for an exceptional weekend experience. Everything was not just great, but over the top awesome. The hosts felt like family and were caring, fun and joyful. I especially appreciated the attention to and accommodating my dietary needs. The food was amazing and abundant. Highly recommend VCB&B!

This was an incredible stay! I was sad to leave, which almost never happens. I stayed for two nights in the Rose Room, and staying here was one of the biggest highlights of my week-long roadtrip. The breakfast, INCREDIBLE! The hospitality, SUPERB! The cleanliness, IMPECCABLE! Everything was wonderful. Dona and Mark, along with Archie (dog) operate this bed and breakfast, and they are the most genuinely kind souls. My comfort was considered. There was road construction in front and Dona and Mark made sure to help me find an alternative parking spot and to keep me updated about the temporary water shut off. I could feel how much they care about their guests. I felt spoiled. I almost forgot to mention the cookies, there were delicious cookies in the room for me to eat. It was a memorable stay and experience. I can't wait to come back. This is thee place to stay in Virginia City. Make sure to sit out on the front porch in one of the rocking chairs to enjoy the scenery and the quiet. I would like to make a brief comment about the stairs to the rooms. The stairs are original to the house and are steep. I personally didn't have a problem with them, but someone with mobility issues might.

We were only here for one night and that was not enough! Mark and Dona were great hosts. Their house is beautiful with amazing period pieces. They are a wealth of information on the area. Archie is a sweet pooch and very welcoming. Dona is a great cook and baker. Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast, cookies, orange cranberry cake, French press coffee and the lovely homemade strawberry jam. This was our first bed and breakfast experience and it did not disappoint. One day and night in Virginia City is not enough to take in all the interesting history. We definitely hope to go back.

I chose the Virginia City Bed and Breakfast simply for nostalgia sake because this was my grandfather's house and art gallery ( Cal E. Bromund). It had been over 45 years since I had last been here. After meeting Dona and Mark and seeing the house, I knew they were the right caretakers for Grandpa's house. The house looked beautiful inside and out. The bed was extremely comfortable and the 100 mile view from what is called the Governor's Room was just as spectacular as I remembered. Dona and Mark were wonderful hosts and Dona was an amazing cook. Even if this wasn't my Grandpa's home, I would certainly stay here again because this B&B was perfect.
