Viking Tree service is the best choice for any tree removal and trimming. They removed several very large diseased trees that were a risk to our home. The crew was very professional, skilled and worked very hard to extract the trees without damaging a neighbor’s fence, and avoiding a variety of other obstacles. The equipment they used was top notch. They are the best! Highly recommend!

I’m going to start by saying there’s a famous quote by Mark Twain…..If you tell the truth you don’t have to remember anything! Now only truth about Viking Tree Service in Shepherdstown WV. I called Erik the evening after the storm. He said to me I’m heading to your house now to check everything out. A 30 min drive during the night and storm. Who does that?? Erik!! His words to me when he saw the tree and my little house….yeah this is a pickle!! He and his amazing team were at my house the next day 1st thing in the morning. I just can’t say enough about how kind, knowledgeable and hard working these guys are!! I mean it!! Just can’t find excellent service like this anywhere. They had their whole hearts into saving my little house. I was crying!! My little perfect house was spared with huge limbs hanging inches above and it was up the Viking to ensure the limbs didn’t fall into my house. Sooooo intense. Their strategic methods and the time they took to analyze and implement a plan with so many ropes and mounts to make everything g just right!! Just AMAZING!! And the final result was everything turned out perfect. My house was spared. No one was hurt!! Erik worked with my insurance company. Just a very blessed, thankful and happy ending. I had a large eastern white pine right next to my house. It suffered some damage during a recent wind storm but luckily didn't damage my house. However we decided to have this hazard removed and called Viking Tree Service. With it being right next to our house we wanted the professionals and these guys did not disappoint. They showed up with over $500k worth of equipment and safely took the tree down in less than 6 hours. The yard was left immaculate as well. They even checked with my neighbor, who allowed them to go through his yard, that he was satisfied with how they left his yard. Very professional and thoughtful company, would highly recommend.

We were referred to Viking by a local tree worker. He took one look at the large silver maple lodged in our roof and said we needed a crane and to call Viking. I called Erik and he came out immediately to give us his professional opinion and set a removal time. He and his crew showed up promptly Monday morning and they worked all day with the crane to safely and efficiently remove the tree and also took down the remainder of the standing tree for a very fair price. They even cIeaned up brush and tarped the roof! I cannot say enough good things about Erik and his team! Thank you for helping us during such a stressful time.

Amazing work by an awesome group of guys. I had 1 dead tree by power lines removed and 2 very large/old silver maples cleaned up. When they arrived they talked with me about everything they planned on doing and what my expectations were. I asked them how they wanted me to pay them and they told me the options available followed by "but don't do anything until we are done and you are satisfied with our work". They did thier work and cleaned up the yard so well that it was cleaner then when they arrived. Specifically I had a concrete pad in the back yard that was covered in grass clippings and weeds before they came that was spotless when they left. After they were done, they walked around with me again and asked if I liked how the trees came out and if there was anything else I'd like from them. I've never had tree work done before, but the price seemed to be very reasonable. Also, I know these guys are trained in Aerial Rescue so that they are ready for any situation and help the community if the need ever arises. As a firefighter here in my community, that's a group of guys I want to support. Selfless, quality driven, respectful, and ambitious group of guys. I would recommend them to anyone. I can't say enough about Viking Tree Service and Owner Erik Berndt. I sent an inquiry email to Eric on a Sunday. Buy the end of the day we had agreed on a meeting on Tuesday. Eric was right on time and looked at our 4 tree issues. He is extremely professional, knowledgeable and nice. We agreed on what needed to be done and within a few hours I had a written quote. By the end of the day Wednesday (the following day) all work was completed. The four guys that performed the work were very professional and respectful of our property and our neighborhood and although it looked like a bomb had gone off during the demolition when they left our yard and driveway were spotless. Price was extremely reasonable and no extras were added. These are the only tree people we will ever use!!!!

Hired Viking Tree Service to remove dead limbs and remove branches over the roof. The three trees are 90’ tall, it was a big job. Erick and his crew are very courteous and professional. His crew of 4 spent 5 hours pruning the trees and cleaned up ALL of the debris. I couldn’t be happier with their work and highly recommend them. Erick even gave me a number of a company to treat my live Ash tree from the beetle infestation. So pleased with Viking Tree Service!

I recently hired Viking to remove three trees including a large cherry with heart rot that had taken on a precipitous lean towards the house. Viking was able to surgically remove both the cherry (50-60ft) and a sprawling elm tree (50-60ft) in close proximity to the Northside of my home with absolutely no property damage or disturbance to the grounds. In addition, they were also able to remove a dead maple (over 20ft) that was situated on a retaining wall overlooking Route 230 and surrounded by power lines without any issues. The crew was incredibly conscientious, knowledgeable about differing tree species and profoundly tidy given the scope of the job. I would gladly hire them again for any future jobs and highly recommend them for any tree removal or trimming needs.

Eric and his team were great. I needed a number of dead Ash trees removed, a few trees trimmed, and some brush removed. They not only were timely and professional, they also were attentive to my desire to promote good habitat stewardship. At my request, they left some parts of the dead trees standing to provide nesting sites for birds and bats. (And they didn't make me feel silly for asking!). The whole team was terrific. I would use them again in a heartbeat!
