VIET Restaurant Hanoi & Rooftop Bar

This restaurant was hands down the best Vietnamese meal I had during my entire trip. If you are looking for a place that bridges the gap between high-end dining and authentic local flavor, this is it. The service was impeccable. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, taking the time to explain the menu items and ingredients in detail, which made the dining experience much more enjoyable and accessible. A standout feature of this place is the beverage program. They bring cocktails down directly from the rooftop bar upstairs, and the quality is outstanding. It is a rare find in Hanoi to discover a spot where you can enjoy properly crafted, high-quality cocktails alongside truly authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Important Note for future visitors: Please be aware that this establishment is CASH ONLY. I highly recommend bringing more cash than you think you might need—the cocktails and foods are so good that you will likely end up ordering more than you originally planned! :)

We had dinner at Viet. They advised us when we arrived they accepted cash only as we were not staying at the hotel. The service was lovely and the food arrived in good time. It was all freshly made, hot and good serving sizes. My only criticism is that the food lacked flavour and my stir fried vegetarian pho had no protein. It would have been easy to add tofu or a fried egg on top. The decor was very French and chic but as we were the only ones dining by the time we left it did lack some ambience. I was tempted to go to the rooftop bar for a drink after but worried I wouldn’t have enough cash. We walked up to have a look but someone was smoking next to where we would have sat so we left.

We had such a wonderful time at this Vietnamese restaurant inside the hotel. The prices were reasonable, the service was excellent, and every staff member was incredibly friendly and attentive. The view was beautiful, and the quiet, relaxing atmosphere made our meal even more enjoyable. We truly had a happy and memorable experience here — highly recommended!

Restaurant is located at the very end of the building and the arrangements look pretty nice. The view from restaurant is great too. Meals were really tasty and well prepared. Waitress named Mia was serving for us and it was a pleasure for us to be served that way - we had an amazing time! Worth visiting!

Everything about this place was excellent. It exceeded my expectations and I fully recommend this restaurant. We had a wonderful time, best service and food. Our server Mai was the sweetest and most helpful when it comes to recommendations.

Fantastic restaurant located on top of the JM Marvel hotel in the center of Hanoi’s old quarter. Great food, fantastic service all through out. All our dishes of local delicacies were outstanding.

Had such a good lunch here! The green rice pandan soup was so fragrant and creamy - a good start to warm up the stomach. The tomato tofu was soft and tasty, and the bamboo-grilled beef was tender and flavourful. Service was great too.

This restaurant located at 11th floor, its has a nice view. The reception staff (Mr. Henry) was really friendly, and the waiter (Mr.Huy) was super helpful, great recommendation and the other waiter also explained how to make the spring rolls right.. Good choice for dinner ❣️ “Clean dishes is a music to the chef, no need good comment” ☺️

Mai was our table staff for dinner tonight and she was amazing. She was polite, friendly, offered extras and her service was efficient. We enjoyed our meals, fresh pork and shrimp spring rolls, coconut beef and lastly the grilled pork with both meals accompanied by rice. Cocktail Ha Long Bay and the fresh lime juice was a hit and the Vietnamese Tea a refreshing end to our meal. A lovely atmosphere. We tried this restaurant based on excellent reviews and we will recommend. Thankyou VIET Restaurant.

Its wonderful dining experience. Everything was great; lotus roots was tender, crunchy and sweet. Bun cha was also great and Hanoi grilled fish was excellent. All was great including the service. Love to visit again. Thank you!!
