Vets Now Portsmouth
About
Vets Now Portsmouth is a dedicated out-of-hours emergency vet clinic, the pet equivalent of A&E, giving people and their pets the care and support they deserve at the time they need it most. Open since 2008, we care for dogs, cats and small animals through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays. Based within Downland Veterinary Group, our services include emergency and critical care, nurse triage, surgery, in-house blood testing, and diagnostic imaging. Our vets and vet nurses treat all pets regardless of which daytime vet you're registered with. We're proudly RCVS accredited as an Emergency Service Clinic.

Margo was made to feel really calm by the staff, as she was really anxious. Staff are lovely, its my 3rd time here and i will be happy to come back if need be.

The staff were pleasant, but ultimately the service received was a total farce. I took my dog to the out of hours clinic with persistent bleeding from the mouth. I had to wait for around 2.5 hours, only to be told that the vet tried to look in his mouth, but found it difficult and weren’t able to see what was causing the bleeding. Gave me unnecessary painkillers when he was clearly not in pain. All in all, £420 was taken from me, after doing pretty much nothing. I expected to walk away at least knowing if it was a tooth or gum issue. The dog is extremely placid and I open his mouth regularly to clean his teeth.
