I’m pretty sure that Peter & co saved Roxy’s life - and I cannot thank him and the staff more for that. At almost 17 years old, this hip dislocation was never going to be easy but as you can see, she’s up, weight-bearing and walking outside on her own for toilet time. After every sleep (and there are many at her age) we are seeing an improvement. Check up at Chipping Norton Vets tomorrow afternoon and I’ll report back. Not out of the woods yet but so far the hip is staying in place and apart from a little confusion when her leg occasionally gives way she’s making a remarkable recovery. Thank you once again. Gareth & Roxy.

I want to make clear that the vet I saw and the reception staff were both lovely. I got my dog taken care of and I was able to have my dog sorted out immediately. My review is one star because the cost of the treatment is simply extortionate and I am unable to see how it’s justified. The consultation was more of a hand over The dog ate a sock she needed to throw up. It was well inside the 2hr window as I brought her to the clinic immediately. The consultation fee of £330 when no real consultation was required is absurd. The total bill at £500+ is disproportionate to the “consultation” and the injection she was given. We were in and out in 40mins I don’t know anyone who earns at a rate anywhere near that and I wonder how that is affordable for anyone normal let alone anyone on low income or with challenging financial circumstances. I enquired out of curiosity what happens if someone brings a dog in who requires intervention and they can’t afford to pay. The options given to me were to shop around or to euthanise the dog. I understand nothing is free and I expect to pay for my dogs healthcare but the issue here is the totally disproportionate nature of the cost for this very simple treatment that was complete in 40mins. This feels like a corporate machine wrapped us as your friendly local vets The vet and the receptionist were both polite helpful and I have no qualms with them but beware if you are unfortunate enough to need to take your pet to Vets Now prepare your own heart surgeon for treatment when you get the bill. This felt like a total manipulation of a situation where I have little option but to have my dog treated and given the desperation of that situation you are trapped in a go/no go transaction where the option to not go ahead ends with your animal suffering or having to be euthanised. Thank you to the vet and receptionist for your help as I said at the time I know this is not if your doing.
