Rosie visited our Vets Now Stoke clinic last year following her spay, where she wasn't herself - vomiting, shaking, not eating and passing green stools.
Our Vet, Catrina, administered medications and attempted to x-ray Rosie. She was then admitted for further investigations, as Catrina was concerned about her GI perforation and septic peritonitis - a life-threatening infection/ inflammation of the abdominal lining that is caused by bacteria leaking from the gastrointestinal tract due to surgery.
An exploratory laparotomy was performed to find that there had been an extremely rare complication with Rosie's spay surgery, something Catrina hadn't seen in 16 years. Thankfully, due to the care provided by Catrina and the nurses, Lauren and Nicky, Rosie made a full recovery and has since been back to see us for cuddles 🥰🐾
