Poor Pablo had to pay our Vets Now Newport clinic a visit after eating fish bait as there was a genuine concern about the salt content and possible hooks he may have ingested, too. 😧
Our team X-ray'd him twice and discovered the fish hook was initially in his stomach but looked like it had moved to his small intestine. Surgery was performed to remove the hook, and we're delighted that Pablo was as bright as a button afterwards and is now home doing well. ❤️
Hooks can be very dangerous and often require surgery to remove them, so it's always wise to keep an eye on dogs when they are near rivers or harbours used by anglers. It's also important for anglers to be extra careful when discarding fishing tackle and equipment. 🎣
