Veterinary Park Potomac

We have only had 1 appointment with the staff, but are already totally impressed with the care provided! We have had multiple pets and been to multiple Veterinary services from primary care to emergency services and the best impression by far has been our first appointment with Veterinary Park Potomac. We look forward to a long association with the staff and services.

Such a great place! All the staff Members are the best, Lola and I really have such a beautiful visit here. 110% satisfied and definitely I will recommend this place. The Vet such a great and polite Doctor she was great all the time.

I highly recommend Veterinary Park Potomac! My Ocean and I have seen all the doctors here - Dr. Kara, Dr. Katie, and Dr. Monica - at one point or another, and all three have been wonderful in providing compassionate and excellent care. They have always shown such patience, both with Ocean (a husky mix) and with me, and took care in answering all my questions/concerns and providing detailed information. I’ve especially appreciated Dr. Kara and the support and care she has consistently provided to Ocean and me through a number of visits. Nonetheless, the whole staff consistently demonstrates their care and support before you even walk through the door - they’ve always efficiently coordinated with the doctors and around my schedule to be seen promptly, greet us without the need for introductions, and most importantly, have always been kind, gentle, patient, and understanding when working with Ocean (who doesn’t always make it easy on them). As for prices, I’ve found that their costs are significantly lower than our prior vet, and they are always very transparent regarding potential costs of care/treatment and work with you to address any concerns you may have in that area. All in all, they’re a wonderful team and I’m thankful to have found them!!

The folks at VPP are just the absolute best. I live in DC so this is a 45-60 min drive (one I had to dig out of the snowcrete to get to for our last appointment) and they're all just so nice, informative, and so clearly love Noodles as much as I do (my dog, not the food, though I suspect we all share that love as well.) I got Noodles through Perfectly Paired Pitties rescue and she had a lot of her medical care at VPP before that and they did amazing work before she found her way to me and continue to do so now that Noodles is in her forever home. Wow, as I was writing this review, I just got a voice mail from them calling just to "check on sweet Noodles" after her appointment yesterday. They're very understanding of post grad school budgets and were never pushy on trying to get me to do anything extra (though I did just end up doing all the bundle just to get a good baseline on her health since it's our first year together.) My intent is to use another vet down in DC for emergencies and establish care there just so I have the "oh we gotta go" option but for all her regular medical care to be done at VPP as long as I live in the area.

Highly recommend! My dogs (pitbulls) can be very fearful and reactive at the vet, but the entire team—from the front desk to the doctors—is amazing at keeping them calm, comfortable, and reducing stress every step of the way. They genuinely love all dogs, even the challenging ones who need extra time, patience, or special handling. They're knowledgable, are up-to-date on the latest research/technologies, and explain everything clearly. I trust them completely. A+++!

This was the best Vet I have Ever taking Coaly to. The Dr was very knowledgeable and compassionate. I even learned a few things I needed to know. The prices were high, however, most Vet are but you don’t mind if they are good at what they do.

My puppy and I both came in traumatized by our previous vet experience where he was accidentally given an extra rabies dose and his GI side effects lingered for weeks. But after our visit yesterday, both of us left glowing. The staff spent the whole visit on the floor with my puppy feeding him to build rapport and a positive vet experience. The plan is to re-introduce him to vaccinations gradually by prodding him with a syringe without a needle occasionally. I got my concerns answered and a lot more information I didn't know I needed. I have great confidence in this group and it's a huge relief!

From check in to check out, I found that everyone I had the pleasure of dealing with were very professional! Everyone makes you feel like your pet is in great hands. The team of doctors are thorough and informative. The doctor I've worked with the most, Dr. Kara, has a bedside manner second to none. This practice makes you feel like family and I'd highly recommend them to everyone. Thank you Veterinary Park Potomac!

We love veterinary park potomac! You can tell that everyone really loves animals and cares about their comfort level and health. Dr. Malehorn was so kind and welcoming with our dog and spent a lot of extra time collecting a thorough history, answering questions, and discussing next steps. We really recommend this vet! Edit 11/2025: I really can't recommend this vet enough! We brought a second dog who was a prior stray and very anxious. The team was incredibly patient and kind, and they even called to check in the next day. They're always very transparent about their prices, great at communicating, and generally make trips to the vet a much less stressful experience for everyone. So happy I found this practice.

I truly appreciate the accurate treatment my senior dog received from the vets and techs on such short notice. Moreover, I’m grateful that they documented everything and emailed me the details, enabling me to recall the identified issues and the appropriate solutions. This overall experience was different from what I was accustomed to when residing in a different state.
