They Came, They Saw, They Conquered! Very Good Tree Service absolutely lived up to their name. Bryce and Jack run a well-oiled machine — truly top-of-the-line equipment, incredible teamwork, and zero wasted motion. Jack (who’s the one up there doing the actual cutting!) handled our massive tree with absolute professionalism and skill. For context: this wasn’t a simple job. We had a single stump that split into two full-size trees — 46 inches at the base and about 80 feet tall — with significant bark inclusion, which is a structural weakness where bark grows between two trunks and makes the whole thing more prone to failure. These guys handled it safely and efficiently, and they took the entire thing down in one day. On top of that, they cleaned up and reshaped my backyard maple and juniper, leaving everything looking intentional and beautiful. They were kind to my kids, easy to have around, extremely respectful of the property, and the pricing was honestly amazing for the scale of the work. As a full-time Realtor, I meet a lot of arborists — and most simply don’t have the capacity, experience, or equipment to take on a job like this. Very Good Tree Service is truly top-tier in Portland. Bryce and Jack are great to work with. They are responsive, experts in trimming and removing trees, leave the space tidy, and communicate throughout the process. Oh and they also have some pretty sweet equipment! Which is not only cool but helps to limit potential risks of falling limbs etc. I’ve used their services twice to remove trees and trim others. And I am always happy to refer them to friends and neighbors because I trust they will do a fabulous job.

We are very pleased with Jack and Bryce with a tree that fell through our roof. We called them at 5am and they were at our house at 9:30 with a crane and crew. They alway came back and ground down the stump.

Bryce was excellent at the job he did for us. We had some weather challenges for the job to be done. He communicated with us constantly about when it would be possible to get the job done. He had to maneuver his machine in a very tight space along the side of the house and 5th wheel trailer. He did it with care and precision ( amazing) he completed the job for us with excellently and cleaned up the area when completed. We highly recommend him.
