We recently carried out a full site survey at a domestic property in Headingley after the homeowner reported finding rodent droppings within the extension loft space.
๐ Key findings from the inspection:
โขA well-established rat run along the left-hand side of the rear garden, tracking directly beneath the property foundations
โขA second active ingress point on the right-hand side of the rear garden adjacent to the steps, allowing rats to exit and re-enter the site freely
โขAdditional burrowing beneath the rear fence line, confirming movement between neighbouring land and the property
โขIt was also established that both ingress points are linked to a drainage defect, with strong indications of an uncapped or defective pipe serving the extension, providing rats with direct access from the drainage system into the structure
These findings confirm active rat movement across the site, with multiple access routes in an out of the property, exacerbated by underlying drainage issues.
โ ๏ธ Without addressing both the rodents and the underlying drainage issues, infestations of this nature are likely to continue.
