Weโve had a massive increase with calls regarding rats entering there waste & recycling bins in order to find a good food source.
Unfortunately the rats have been causing significant damage to the bins by gnawing them which enables them to enter an exit them slot more freely.
Our recommendations to reduce rats getting in to your waste & recycling bins-
๐นDonโt stack any bin bags in & around the Bins
๐นTry & reduce a lot of the food waste as this is what the rats are wanting (once they know there is food they will not stop unless controlled)
๐นDonโt put the bins directly against fences, walls, bushes etc where the rats can use them as an aiding tool to climb
๐นReplace any damaged (split) bins as this also allows them to enter & exit more freely
