This morning our tech attended a property to remove a large, dormant wasp nest left over from last year โ hidden in the eaves of a property & only just discovered by the new occupants.
While the nest was no longer active, it was still causing concern. While old nests wont really attract new queen wasps, it may encourage new colonies to build nearby it also causes unnecessary alarm for homeowners.

๐นOccasionally, a new queen may build her nest alongside an old one, but this occurrence is quite rare.
๐นEncourage structural damage or staining
๐นCause fear or discomfort, especially in lofts or sheds
๐นUseful to remove during renovation or property sales as this can hault the sales etc
We always recommend checking attics, outbuildings, roof spaces at the start of the warmer months โ especially if youโve recently moved in or havenโt accessed those areas since last year.
