This afternoon, we attended a domestic property in the Ferrybridge area of Wakefield following reports of internal rat activity.
Our inspection identified a clear ingress point where an old kitchen outlet pipe had previously been removed but not sealed, allowing rats direct access into the property.
On inspection, we located multiple rats actively nesting, with movement observed (two tails visible) on top of the washing machine.
Further evidence confirmed that the rats had been feeding on cat food, taken from both the kitchen drawers and the catโs food bowl.

This is an extremely clean and well-maintained property. The infestation was not caused by hygiene, but solely due to an unsealed structural access point.
Corrective measures and control recommendations have now been advised to prevent further ingress and resolve the issue long-term.
