RATS GNAWING THROUGH RUBBISH BINS FOR FOOD
Early this morning we attended a property in the Robin Hood area following reports of rats climbing into rubbish bins late last night.
On inspection, multiple bins had been heavily gnawed by rats attempting to gain access to food sources. Once rats establish a regular food supply, activity can escalate very quickly especially around bin stores, fencing, decking & garden areas.
Our technician immediately implemented a structured rodent riddance programme to bring the infestation under control.
We also advised the homeowner on preventative measures including:
• Moving bins away from walls & fences
• Ensuring bin lids fully close properly
• Avoiding loose food waste within bags
• Regularly cleaning bin areas
• Removing potential harbourage around the garden
Rats are opportunistic feeders if food is available, they’ll keep returning. Identifying attractants early is key to preventing a much larger infestation.
