Venture West Flight School

I have an 11-year-old who loves airplanes. We surprised him with a "discovery flight" from Venture West Flight School and he said it was the best birthday present he's ever received! The customer service was awesome, very friendly and flexible. We had to re-schedule a day early due to a sports game and they were very accommodating. Our instructor, Allison was incredible. She was excited about flying and she had the heart of a teacher. She explained all of the different aspects of the airplane and flying and worked really well with my 11-year-old, meeting him where he was at. I had another son riding in the back of the plane with me and they both enjoyed learning from Allison. My 11-year-old enjoyed being able to take the controls (under instructor supervision) and actually fly the airplane for much of the flight! Allison also demonstrated various maneuvers, and the boys had a blast experiencing flight. It was great seeing some of the landmarks in the east valley, places where we like to hike and play. We got to fly over our house, and the rest of the family came out and waved as we flew over. It was a truly enjoyable experience. I shopped around for an experience like this, and Venture West had the best service, the best experience and the best price! We already have some friends and family interested in going and I'm sure we will go up again. Thank you, Venture West!

A FANTASTIC FLIGHT SCHOOL!!!! It is also a great place to work when you are a CFI. They have plenty of planes, mechanics, and instructors so your training doesn’t get delayed. It is not a memorization program at Venture West, they actually teach you to be a confident pilot. The owners are in the building daily helping with everything. No training is perfect, but having a school that cared about my training outcome was valuable for me. I researched flight schools for months, and it was frustrating. I chose Venture West because they offered training on my terms. A good curriculum backed by people that care. They added a college program so you can get a degree along with college financing options. I highly recommend Venture West.

I recently booked a discovery flight with Venture West Aviation, and it was exactly the reintroduction to flying I needed. It’s been a while since I’ve been in the air, and David made the scheduling process incredibly smooth and welcoming. He was quick to respond, flexible with availability, and genuinely excited to help me get back into flying. My instructor, Aly, was outstanding. Even though I have some past flight experience, she met me right where I was - refreshing the basics and letting me take the controls as much as I felt comfortable. Her explanations were clear, her teaching style was calm and encouraging, and she made the entire flight feel both fun and confidence-building. The whole experience reminded me why I loved flying in the first place. It didn’t feel like a generic demo flight; it felt like truly stepping back into the pilot seat with support from people who care about your journey. If you’ve flown before and want to get back into it, or if you’re brand new to aviation, I can’t recommend Venture West Aviation, David, and Aly enough. I’ll definitely be flying with them again.

My son took his first discovery flight and I was fortunate enough to be a passenger. Tyler was incredible in making it happen in the short time period we had in town. After our flight my son said he’s hooked! Everything about this school is professional and customer oriented. Our pilot Sam was upbeat and very insightful. He took time to make it the very best experience. I can’t say enough good things about this experience and the people. Do a night flight it’s so cool!!

To be honest, this discovery flight completely exceeded my expectations. I’ve done a few discovery flights in California before, but this is the first time I felt like I truly found the right place. Ally is hands down the best flight instructor I’ve ever flown with. She is professional, patient, and very easy to talk to. If I decide to work on my PPL, I would still choose this place even though I live a bit far away in SoCal.

I’m halfway through the program and am preparing for commercial. It had been one of the hardest pursuits of my life, but I’m glad to be experiencing it here at Venture West. It’s a team of resources and support. Staff and students reach out beyond what’s required to help each other meet individual goals and overcome obstacles. Leadership sets the example by being approachable, honest, and concerned for your well being and long term success. Who is not available to help you? It was in the face of challenges that The Venture West team was able to show up and show out. You shine as lights in the world. God bless.

Venture West Flight School is a very special place for Aviation! They have built an environment that fosters community, learning, and growth to be born as an aviator from the nest through to spreading your wings to start your Aviation Career. 7 years ago I went to flight school with the owners Tyler and David - the teamwork and support we all showed each-other then is really inspirational and developed the roots for Venture West. The haven that Venture West built is amazing. The space for 1on1 coaching, team learning in several collaborative environments, simulators, aircraft, are all the newest and best of the best. Aviation is a very personal venture and the community support you'll feel here is second to none! A very space place for Aviation indeed!

If you’ve ever wanted to experience flight in a small aircraft, Venture West Aviation is the way to go!! At 43, I finally took my first Discovery Flight. A little background on me: I’ve been obsessed with aviation, mainly in the aspect of becoming a pilot, since I was about 3 years old. Since then I’ve always dreamed of flying planes, either as a hobby or as a career. As with most people, life had other plans; plans that inhibited my goals of starting private pilot training. Fast forward 40 years, and I’m finally ready to begin working on my dream of flying. 😃 I want to thank the INCREDIBLE staff at Venture West Aviation for their time, patience, and commitment for the experience of flying yesterday (1/22/26)! Mostly, I’d like to especially thank Allison (CFI) for the one-on-one flight experience!! Allowing me to take the controls for the majority of the flight was TRULY eye opening and it absolutely solidified my decision to begin my private pilot journey!! Getting to meet the staff, students, and mechanics was fantastic. Every person I met was the very peak of professionalism but also ENTHUSIASM!! The level of dedication and care that everyone displays is beyond incredible. At one point, several instructors and students went out to the flight line to watch one of their students / classmates return from her final flight. I don’t feel there are enough words or things that I can say to express how much I loved this experience and how much I appreciate the effort that Venture West Aviation puts into their students, programs, and, most of all, safety!! Thank you all again for this incredible experience and opportunity!! I absolutely look forward to beginning this next phase of my life and going forward with this incredible journey!!

Venture West Aviation is truly something special. From the moment you walk in, you feel the family environment and the genuine culture they’ve built. Everyone here cares about aviation, about safety, and most importantly, about each other. Their pilot training is absolutely world class. The instructors are knowledgeable, professional, and committed to helping you grow as a pilot, no matter your starting point. It’s rare to find a flight school that combines elite training with such a welcoming, supportive atmosphere, but Venture West does it flawlessly. Couldn’t recommend them more. If you’re looking for a place to learn, grow, and feel at home in aviation, this is it.

I came to Venture West in early September of 2024 and completed my training in January of 2026. I'd say that the training is definitely demanding and requires a LOT of focus. Luckily I never had to delay training due to lack of instructors or airplanes, they worked tirelessly to ensure that you stayed on course as much as possible. The instructors there are fantastic and really know what they are teaching! One of the best parts of VWA is Victor, he is an amazing source of information and 100% willing to help answer any questions that come his way. If you're looking for an accelerated program and quality instructors and airplanes this school is definitely for you PS: Study more than you think you need too. It'll save you in the long run!
