With a focus on more traditional methods the team have been working hard renovating a 18th century cottage in Pilrig.
Plastering the walls with a Hot Lime insulation plaster made from natural eco friendly materials designed to helps the period property breathe and control its moisture, while most importantly keeping the heat in.
We apply the insulation hot and up to 25mm thick in layers to reach our desired thickness. This is not for the faint hearted the material is hot, dangerous and heavy but honestly it’s been a pleasure to work with!
Traditional plastering is very much a passion of mine and I definitely will be doing a lot more conservation work in the new year.
