Mr. Van and his team have been absolutely paramount in representing our case and winning -- granting me a work permit in what proved to be a difficult but noteworthy case.
As a Canadian who graduated with a Master's from ETH and a determination to work in the public/NGO space, I have always known it may be difficult to find an employer who would be willing to sponsor a non-EU/CH citizen to work in Zurich. I was grateful to be offered a full-time job in Zurich soon after graduating, and contacted Mr. Van to help facilitate the work permit process, including preparing my work permit application file. Mr. Van was very professional and knew very well what may strengthen the application. He provided encouraging, yet realistic legal counsel the entire time.
It ended up being far more than the initially sough-for facilitation, as Mr. Van ultimately guided us through more than 7 months of administration and paperwork, often veiled in intimidating or confusing legal terms. What made this case more difficult than I could have imagined was the fact that my employer was an NGO, which we were told -- amongst other reasoning -- brought no economic benefits to Switzerland, and our first application for the work permit was rejected.
Without his guidance and expertise, I would have not known how to proceed to bring the case to court to appeal the decision. Mr. Van's expertise and assurance were vital to us, including preparing together a 100+ page appeal document.
When Mr. Van delivered the news that the permit had been granted, I could tell he was genuinely so excited for us, and this is what I think sets him apart. He is not only a professional and reliable lawyer, but also genuinely cares about his clients. Knowing that immigration and these related uncertain situations are already tough on the applicant, he does what he can to help. I appreciate this tremendously and can recommend Mr. Van absolutely. Thank you so much Panha!!
