I am extremely disappointed with my experience as a new patient at this clinic. I had taken an entire afternoon off to attend my first appointment, only to be told upon arrival that the doctor had left early for the weekend. They claimed they could not notify me because, as a new patient, they didn’t have my phone number. Yet the form they handed me to fill out already included my email address, which they could have used to inform me—but they didn’t. This lack of communication was incredibly frustrating and completely unprofessional. I rescheduled my appointment for the following week. During my second visit, I completed all necessary tests for vision and eye health. Dr. Gisela Verdez was wonderful and attentive, and I appreciated her professionalism. However, the experience after the tests was unacceptable. I finished my appointment at 6 PM, with only the doctor and me left, as the receptionists had already gone home. Dr. Verdez gave me my contact lens prescription and instructed me to leave it on the desk for the receptionist to order my lenses. Weeks went by, and all I received was a bill—my lenses never arrived. When I called the clinic, they told me they never received the prescription and that I would need to redo all the exams and pay again if I wanted my prescription. This level of disorganization and lack of responsibility is shocking. As a patient, I felt completely ignored and disrespected. I cannot recommend this clinic based on my experience.

Dr Velez and the staff here are incredible. The staff is friendly and efficient and Dr Velez goes above and beyond for her patients. As a newer patient who was afraid of getting shots in their eye, she reassured me several times and made sure I was comfortable before continuing. Ex even after making sure I was ok before I left. The care she provides is top notch and I’m grateful to her for her compassion and excellent care.

Dr. Velez wrote research papers on my rare eye condition. She understands the treatment that I need to keep my eyesight and took the time to answer a lot of questions that I had. Being able to schedule later appointments is a big plus for me as I don't have to miss work for my follow ups. Having this level of specialist care basically in my back yard is great.

My husband has had to wait hours in the waiting room for his appointments (plural). His time is valuable. Ridiculous. Someone doesn't know how to manage time.

What an utter lack of respect for other people’s time. I don’t care what level of physician you are, everyone’s time is valuable. Elderly people should not wait hours to see a doctor and they have to be taken so someone else’s time is impacted as well. Additionally, we were given her “first appointment” at 8:15 only to have her arrive at 9:30 while a hallway full of patients waited for her. The audacity! We will not be returning. This was the last chance I gave thinking the first appointment would be any different. Unfortunately not. Would 100% not recommend, I don’t care how amazing a doctor you may be.

Dr. Velez is awesome! She always takes great care of me. My vision is safe because of her. Her staff is friendly and kind.

Extremely SLOW and unprofessional! The Optometrist was sitting there watching game shows on TV when I arrived. I waited for 10 minutes at the window before I was even acknowledged, while FIVE employees were sitting there chit-chatting! Most were inexperienced young people who obviously didn't understand their own procedures or how to operate their own equipment. The grounds are dirty and unmaintained. Shameful. After 2 hours I left and told them to never call me again. How they stay in business is a mystery. Follow-up: I was just called by someone representing Valley Eye trying to make excuses for their poor service in a very harassing manner. When I asked him to identify himself so I could record his name he hung up! I will now pursue this matter further with the Better Business Bureau.

I've had 3 appointments here now and every time its taken over 3 hours. My appointment was at 2:15, I was taken back at 2:45 by the tech, finished by 3 and then sat and waited until 5:30 to be seen my the doctor. The doctor told me she had multiple patients booked for the same time slot so clearly they dont respect any of their patient's time. They take the "care" out of healthcare. Additionally, I requested my note and after each diagnoses it stated "see educational handout" but no education was provided regarding my diagnosis.

Dr. Tierno was very kind, efficient and helpful in my getting another gas permeable contact. It also cost less than I've paid at other places. He is now my optician!

Had appointment today with Dr valez. My appointment was at 8:45. My testing done. Another lady was there and her appointment was at 8:15 and Dr valez not even in. With that I cancelled and will not be returning. This is not the first time, but it will be the last. How rude and unprofessional on Dr Velez part. Your staff however, should be commended for having to deal with so many complaints. I've seen it. Your staff has always been very pleasant. So start treating them better!!
