One of the earliest signs of bladder cancer is painless haematuria (blood in the urine). Although haematuria has many causes -- including dehydration, UTI or kidney stones -- it is important to rule out dangerous causes before writing it off. Early detection ensures bladder cancer is found while still highly treatable.
The risk of bladder cancer is more significant if you:
• Are a smoker
• Are male
• Are over the age of 40
• Work with chemicals (e.g. textiles, dyes and prints)
