Mitsubishi challenger had an engine rebuild Knows what they're doing, needs refinement Absolute nightmare just trying to get a straight answer without being told I'll give you a ring back only to never get it back and then having to phone them back the next day for a simple question. James (the mechanic) is great, asked me to come down to show me what the problem was, went above and beyond to make it clear top bloke, but that was about it. I received my engine after the rebuild, noticed less than a week after the rebuild that I have a oil leak on the intake manifold, There is oil all around the sump plug and around the sump gasket, I need to get the sump gasket replaced There is a coolant leak somewhere now My battery isn't properly grounded anymore and causes interference with the rest of the car and/or the engine/chassis ground isn't grounded properly The injectors needed a relearn as multiple other mechanics mentioned how ratty they were I am missing my battery metal tiedown strap so the battery is just bouncing around in my engine bay being held only by the wires I phoned up 2 days after my service and the couldn't find it The fuel filter plug was not plugged in I had Mitsubishi genuine parts which I was already in possession of before the engine rebuild which I asked multiple times for them to use it which they agreed as I was already on a tight budget, only not to use them and leave them exactly where I left it 2 months ago For what I spent on the engine rebuild I expected more from such a well established engine rebuilders Shame I won't be going back and definitely don't recommend them

DO NOT USE THESE GUYS... booked in my truck for minor works last week.. needed a booster and a mud guard refitted.. dropped the truck off today and they didn't even look at it and needed it for another day or so.. Don't book trucks in if you haven't got time to work on them!! Most people are extremely busy and cant afford to take their trucks off the road to sit in your yard and do nothing.. Office staff are TRASH also.. Zero experience, communication or care!! You can see from their replies on the negative feedback how they don't take accountability and I'm lucky I dodged a bullet.. I was excited to use them for my entire fleet service, repairs or upgrades as they are local to my yard.. MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT!!! NOT HAPPY AND WILL NEVER TAKE ANY OF MY FLEET THERE AGAIN!

BE WARNED! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY IN THIS PLACE.. Stay clear of this place. These guys had 2 goes at rebuilding my cummins engine and completely botched it. Their first attempt cost me over 60k not to mention the downtime. I didn't even get 600klm out of an engine that should last at least 600,000klm. 2nd attempt and a complete out of chassis rebuild and some 8 weeks later I was instructed by Phil Smekel the truck was good to go. Then they tried to sting me for reworks for an engine I'd already paid for and should have been covered by their pathetic excuse for a warranty. I literally had to steal my truck back from these clowns. In the time it took me to drive the truck back to my yard the engine was completely stuffed 20klm at most. I pulled the engine out the very next day and had it completely rebuilt for the 3rd time buy an actual diesel mechanic unlike the parts fitters at university diesel destroyers. I wouldn't let James the head "mechanic" (and i use this term loosely when describing him) change the plug in my mower. Phillip and James Smekel and their lack of experience, honesty and any hint of responsibility for their dodgey work cost me over $100,000 in the end and they wouldn't even help me to pay the mechanic that finally rebuilt the engine and rectified their dodgy work. Shame I had to give them 1 star just to post this because they don't deserve it...

I recommend Universal Diesel Services 100% - James and his team have fantastically maintained and serviced my Mitsubishi Triton since coming out of its original stat dec warranty period.This company have always taken my car in no matter how busy there schedule is and have fixed every single problem to ever occur within hours to days of being diagnosed. James and his team work very hard and all staff are very knowledgeable and willing to help in whatever way they can, all mechanics and office staff involved in fixing your vehicle have/will always provide well explained information by showing you the problem of the diagnoses of your vehicle with the fix of genuine parts and the correct policy. Their professionalism goes above and beyond , some of the best blokes, mechanics and reception staff I’ve dealt with and will always recommend these guys to all my family and friends.

Great service and customer support. I had no end of troubles with my challenger, I called James and the crew and they were able to book me in nearly straight away. Kept in touch with me every couple of days to let me know what issues they found and what their next steps were, also showing me certain things that were going to be an issue and fixing them along the way. Didn't even go over what I was quoted even with the extra work. When I got it back I had a small issue with the car where a hose had come off and the check engine light came on. I called and the very next day someone was out at my house to resolve the issue. Will definitely go back if I need more work done in the future.

Great service and workmanship, these guys were straight on to it. Kept me informed, and had my truck back running in a short time frame. Good communication and a reasonable price. No problems here. I highly recommend Universal Diesel Service

This is my first ever review but I feel like I must share my experience so I can warn others about my dealings with Universal Diesel Service. I took in my Isuzu tipper in for a new clutch and got a rough quote of $2000 at the time I thought that was reasonably cheap and honestly expected to pay more . The repairs were carried out but the bill was over $5600 with no phone call to let me know that the cost would almost be 3 times what I was quoted. I will also be sharing my experience with other businesses where I work. 😡

My experience withe James and the Crew at Universal Diesel Service was Exceptional. When I called them up and told them the problems my car was having, straight of the bat they gave me a solution and my car has run better since. So thanks heaps Universal Diesel Services. I’ll definitely be back

11/10 service everytime. I've had James and crew work on my vehicles for over 5 years now and have 0 complaints. Price is more then reasonable for the 1 stop shop services they provide. Communication A+ Professionalism A+ Workmanship A+ Price A+ I will continue to do nothing but recommend this business and I will continue to send all my mechanical work to James n Co for the foreseeable future. Works conducted: Full engine rebuilds, engine conversions, diagnostics, wiring, log book servicing, chassis bracing, aftermarket suspension, air-conditioning, RWC, hours of advice. The overall rating would be a 5* but thanks to Zach and is immaturity trying to blame a business for his lack of maintenance has ruined that. Looking forward to having my ZD30 back on the road (Y)

James fixed my ML triton which was throwing codes due to faulty sensors, full service and fixed wiring that needed to be done. Excellent work and was done quickly. Great pricing and great service. I was always kept in the loop. Highly recommend!
