Water damage situations often require more than just drying—they demand careful planning, containment, and attention to detail to protect the rest of the home during repairs.
In Baton Rouge, United Fire & Water recently completed a residential job focused on containment and preparation for plumbing repairs. In the kitchen, our team covered all cabinetry, installed air purification equipment, and built a containment wall along the lower ceiling. We added zipper access points to create secure containment doors, allowing controlled entry while keeping dust and debris contained.
In the living room, we took the same careful approach by protecting furniture, placing air scrubbers, and constructing a containment barrier. To allow for necessary plumbing access, sections of wood flooring were removed, and all A/C registers were sealed to prevent airborne contaminants from spreading throughout the home.
After the plumber completed their work, our team thoroughly cleaned all dirt and debris and sanitized the entire workspace. The area was then fully prepared for the rebuild phase.
Projects like this show how important proper containment and cleanup are in protecting a home during restoration. At United Fire & Water, every step is handled with care to ensure a safe and efficient path back to normal.
