A recent commercial water damage project in Baton Rouge, LA was caused by a burst pipe hidden behind a wall, impacting both a hallway and back office area. 💧🏢 The leak led to saturated carpet, wet sheetrock, and moisture spreading throughout surrounding materials.
Our team arrived promptly and began with a full assessment, including moisture readings, infrared imaging, and detailed documentation using Docusketch. In the hallway, we extracted water from the carpet and removed the shoe molding to expose trapped moisture. Antimicrobial treatment was applied to prevent bacterial growth, and drying equipment was set to begin the mitigation process.
In the back office, the damage was more extensive due to an active leak inside the wall. Coordination with the on-site plumber allowed us to remove sections of sheetrock so the damaged pipe could be repaired. Once the plumbing issue was resolved, we continued with extraction, removed affected baseboards and materials, and installed drying equipment including a dehumidifier and air scrubber.
During the follow-up visit, moisture readings confirmed the structure was dry. Equipment was removed, and the area was cleaned, HEPA vacuumed, and sanitized. Proper documentation and final scans were completed to close out the project.
