What To Expect During the NIPT Procedure?
Here’s a guide on what to expect:
1) Eligibility Check: To confirm the date of the pregnancy, an ultrasound may be performed.
2) Sample Collection: A small amount of maternal blood is drawn.
3) Laboratory Analysis: The blood sample is processed in a lab where cfDNA fragments are extracted and sequenced.
4) Result Reporting: Withing 5–10 working days
5) Follow-Up: If the test indicates a high risk, diagnostic testing (e.g., CVS, amniocentesis) is recommended to confirm results.
