MOISTURE DETECTION DURING BUILDING & PEST INSPECTION
One of the pieces of equipment we use during our building and pest inspections is the Tramex Moisture Encounter Plus Meter. It can detect the presence of moisture without the need to cause any damage to walls or flooring being tested.
It can detect moisture through wood/timber, drywall/roofing and plaster/brick so it’s an important piece of technology for our inspection.
In this particular property, the meter detected high levels of moisture to concrete block walls below ground level. This was due to poor or no waterproofing during construction.
This can lead to bubbling paint and damage to any timber skirtings.
