When our two inspectors were conducting a thorough inspection of a property at Kippa Ring, one was checking this cupboard. He pulled it away from the wall as he suspected there was termite damage.
There certainly was! All the mud present on the walls is clear cut evidence of termite infestation. Termites make mud tubes to protect themselves from predators, sunlight, and keep their bodies from drying out when exposed to air.
The termites had gained access into the house. Perhaps with the high rainfall this year, the back of the cupboard became moist and this became a food source for the termites.
