It pays to clean gutters! At this building and pest inspection at Karana Downs our inspector saw evidence of water damage. Investigating further to see where the water was getting in, he saw the gutters were blocked.
When we have downpours during storms and gutters are blocked where does the water go? Gutters can overflow in 2 ways - over the gutters and cascade like a waterfall into your yard and/or back up into the eaves and in your house. That’s what happened in this instance.
This type of water damage leaves the home exposed to termites starting a colony as they thrive on moist timber.
