We hired this service to mount a Montessori-style wall gym for our son. The installation itself appears secure, but the overall experience was frustrating due to scheduling communication and an unexpected charge.
When I scheduled the appointment, I was told the technician would arrive at 10:30 AM and received a reminder text referencing that time. When no one had arrived by 10:45, I called twice and left voicemails before receiving a call back. At that point I was told the appointment was actually within a 10:30–12:00 window. Unfortunately, that window had not been clearly communicated when the appointment was booked or in the reminder text. Instead of acknowledging the confusion, it was suggested that I may not have read the time slot correctly, which felt dismissive.
The technician later texted at 11:44 saying he would arrive in about 20 minutes.
During the installation, I initially provided screws designed for metal studs (which our building has). The technician said he needed screws for wood studs and chose to use his own. However, toward the end of the installation he realized the wall actually required metal stud screws after all. We were then charged an additional $35 for the screws he used.
Between the scheduling confusion, the delayed arrival, and the additional charge for materials after declining the screws I had already provided, the total cost of around $180 felt quite high for the experience.
The installation appears to be done correctly, but clearer communication, accountability when misunderstandings occur, and transparency around materials would make the service much better for customers.
