About
Tradición is a Puerto Rican folkloric dance group based in Richmond, VA dedicated to creating awareness about the extensive and diverse history that lies in the music and folklore of Puerto Rico and other Latin American countries. Audiences are introduced to cultures, customs, and traditions through workshops, community performances, and special events. We are always looking to add dancers/members to our dance performances. There is no compensation for performing. Auditions are open to anyone that would like to participate and will be conducted much as a regular practice session.

The experience provided by Angel (The Salsa Guy) and Tradición Dance Company is nothing short of phenomenal. What sets them apart is how they seamlessly weave the vibrant history and culture of salsa and other latin dance styles into their lessons, making the class both educational and incredibly engaging. The entire team brings a professional yet infectious energy that makes learning feel like a celebration. I truly can’t recommend Tradición Dance Company enough for anyone looking for top-tier instruction or a standout group for school and community events!

Angel and the team at Salsa Richmond were absolutely WONDERFUL!! They did an AMAZING job engaging both the children and the adults!! WE LOVED their explanation of their history and their culture! The characters that came out really had EVERYONE'S ATTENTION!! We can't wait to see them again, next year!!! Sincerely, Towanda Robinson, SGES Co-VP of Programs at Shady Grove Elementary School.
