Totem Appliance & Refrigeration

March 4, 2026 I contacted Totem Appliance Service to send a technician after my LG washer leaked water throughout my condo. The technician arrived on time. Before even opening the machine, he immediately suspected that the issue was the hot-water valve. After opening the washer, he confirmed that the valve was indeed faulty. I appreciate that he was able to quickly identify the problem. However, I was surprised by the final cost of the repair. The replacement part was approximately $58, and the repair itself took less than 45 minutes, yet I was billed $451 in total, including about $400 in labor and additional charges that were not clearly explained. Another point that I found confusing was that the technician stated he could not disconnect or reconnect the washer’s water lines. He advised me that I would need to call a plumber or another professional to unhook and reconnect the machine in order to test it after the repair, as he said he would not be liable if anything happened. This raises an obvious concern: if the machine cannot be connected and tested as part of the service, it is difficult to understand how the technician can fully diagnose and verify that the repair was successful. In my view, disconnecting and reconnecting the washer in order to test the repair should reasonably be considered part of the appliance service. Given the relatively simple repair, the cost and the limitations of the service provided were unexpected and difficult to justify.

Technician Tony repaired our LG fridge.....diagnosed the problem as a bad compressor....a common issue for LG ......had all the parts required and we were good to go the same day. Overall a positive experience starting with the lady who we booked the appointment with.....highly recommend Totem for anyone looking for appliance repairs. Regards Iain Johnstone

Hardik came to help check our new LG gas range which was acting up. He took his time to explain what the issue was, how to operate the gas,and went over and beyond to help provide answers to questions on other appliances. I am super impressed and satisfied with his level of customer service.

Totem Appliance Repair was outstanding from start to finish. Our fridge decided to quit at the worst possible time. After speaking with another company and getting a false diagnosis, Court came in and absolutely saved the day. Court was punctual, knowledgeable, and took the time to clearly explain what was actually going on and what the proper fix involved. You can tell he knows his stuff… he was efficient, honest, and no upselling nonsense. The repair was done right the first time, and everything has been working perfectly since. If you need appliance repair done properly the first time, I highly recommend Totem Appliance Repair and ask for Court. Great service all around!

Service was promptly and professionally attended to by the technician, Tony ( 5 stars for his performance). Noisy motor and error message issues with dishwasher resolved. FYI: Although still under warranty, cost of $352 for diagnosis and service call was charged (modified rating).

Court came out to replace the ignitor on our gas stove. He was prompt, very courteous, knowledgeable, and very efficient. We will definitely call Totem Appliances again if we have any other appliance repair issues.

Court was super friendly and communicated very well throughout the day to let me know when he would arrive. Got our fridge fully repaired quickly. Helped answer all my questions. Appointment was scheduled right away, would highly recommend Totem.

Beware before calling especially if you are looking for refrigerator repair. We had Totem come out to fix my parents fridge and tech left a water line in the back of the fridge loosened plus kinked from not pushing it back in place well causing a leak behind the fridge flooding my parents basement overnight. Luckily the damage is not as severe as it could have been, but will still cost over $10k to repair and Totem took no responsibility to help correct the issue. Was very disappointed with their approach and service / technicians quality of work. I would not recommend.

Tony was awesome! He communicated well as to when he would arrive, which was very much appreciated. He fixed the issue with out dishwasher, was very friendly and professional, I'd definitely recommend him to anyone looking for appliance repair.
