I've been a patient for over 20 years and recently have seen a decline in patient care. I like Dr Gainey but the staff is not as responsive as used to be. In April I left a VM asking to schedule my annual exam. No reply. Then, had appointment in May, and the most recent event is they sent my H aides into lab May 7 with 7-10 biz day expectation of return. I spoke to staff on day 7 asking for an update. They said they'd check but did not call back. Same experience on my next 2 calls. I let them know I was going into knee surgery & hoped to have my aides back before. I explained that in past years the staff had worked with the lab on an expidite. Again, I did not get a call back with an update on the return of my H aides. I visited the office my first day out of the hospital = 320pm on Friday. The door says they close at 330pm on Friday and I could see people at the reception desk but the door was locked and they would not answer the door or my phone call (saying I just needed a quick pick up). Whereas this was the Fri before Mem Day I was without my H aides until Tuesday. Be aware they send your H aides out, where not all audiology clinics do, (UTSW does not), so may be a consideration when you are selecting a practice for your long term hearing health.

From our very first phone call to sch an appointment and speaking with Jennifer to our exam with Cayden and Dr Gainey we were made to feel welcome and calm all anxiety as this was our first experience concerning hearing loss. Professorial, above and beyond explaining what to expect, what each step was assessing to out the door hands down the Very Best! We left feeling very confident on our new journey dealing with hearing loss as we deal with aging or like my wife likes to say “ becoming more mature” I look forward to this journey with Dr Gainey and her team ♥️
